music performance by

Sammy Mellman

Sammy Mellman is a New Jersey-based songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and high school music teacher. Pulled towards strange chord progressions and melancholic hooks, he came to a uniquely focused and resonant sound performing 4-part solo trombone looping arrangements throughout the 2010s, before beginning to explore songwriting more earnestly leading up to 2020. Taking after some 1960s melodic sensibilities crossed with more contemporary bedroom-based projects, he composes scenic, wistful, and diary-like tunes that invite the listener to both escape and appreciate the natural world and present moment.
