Susan Reedy: Urban Narratives
Susan Reedy lives and works in New York State. Her work addresses the ephemeral nature of time, while seeking the beautiful and the sublime in unexpected places. Evoking the unconventional beauty of weathered urban exterior surfaces that have accrued layers of posters, fliers, accidental mark making and graffiti, Susan is drawn to source material that has a sense of history to it. By selecting these abandoned and overlooked objects, her practice transforms and elevates discarded ephemera, once functional in our society, now obsolete as we have marked the shift from analog to digital formats.
