Geoffrey Sokol Artist Bio & Statement
Geoffrey Sokol has had a life-long interest in photography. He studied design and photography at Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, at NYU and the Maine Photographic Workshop. He immerses himself in the work and methods and of many twentieth century photographers such as Harry Callahan, Carleton Watkins, and Aaron Siskind. Born in Long Island, he now lives and has his studio in Manhattan where he works extensively shooting commercial photography for many clients including Ralph Lauren Home, Elle Décor, Architectural Digest, and others. He has been involved in the arts in Jersey City, working with Victory Hall Drawing Rooms.
