Michael Endy Artist Bio & Statement
"I live with my family in Westfield, where I am highly involved in the NJ art scene as President of the Westfield Art Association. I am also Co-President of Pro Arts Jersey City and Chair of the Westfield Arts Council. I have exhibited at MoNA, the Museum of New Art in Detroit; CICA Museum of Contemporary Art in Seoul, South Korea; the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, MA; Gallery Kayafas in Boston; Mishkin Gallery in New York; the George Segal Gallery in Montclair, NJ, and many more distinguished venues.
The photographs in this exhibit are all included in my first book of photographs, Lost Highway – a photographic hymn to New Jersey. The book was selected for Photobook 2015 and was exhibited at the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, MA.
New Jersey is my muse. I have lived, loved, won, and lost in this state since last century, which is just about the time it takes to get to know a place. My photographs capture the cultural artifacts that together define this peculiar, marvelous, and most American of places."
