Milosz Koziej Artist Bio & Statement
Born 1975 in Rzeszow (Poland), lives and works in NY and NJ.
In 90’s when I had started to discover simple relations between the colors A and Y close to Z point, I became fascinated with the work that was done. During rotary motion of the painting, the new tone appeared. Kept looking intently at the spinning oval painting. Then I fixed my eyes on the white wall. The colors appeared on the wall in the reversed rotary motion.
Also, each color was in opposition to the color on the moving painting. I came to conclusion that the rotary motion “deceived” my eye (more specifically the eye’s retina). This change of perception made me exited about further studies and detailed observation of the hues.
I started to notice similar interdependence of objects on daily basic. I was convinced that everything around me was inconsistently relative. And truly, I think, the surrounding depends on “today”, in other words, “now and here”personal point of view and attitude. Therefore “tomorrow” may not distinguish the same situation or object.
