Tim Daly Bio and Statement
Realist painter Tim Daly was born and raised in Jersey City, attended Catholic schools and the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan and has lived in Hoboken so long he remembers when it was cheap. His studio is in the landmark Neumann Leathers building, also in Hoboken. He is best known for his landscape paintings of Jersey City and Hudson County and for his mural series in the south mezzanine N.J.Transit's Secaucus Junction Rail Station. Daly has had numerous solo shows including "Drawings, Drawings for Paintings, Paintings" at the PVS Gallery, Hoboken, 2012, "Here and Away" The Jersey City Museum at the Majestic, Jersey City, 2010, "Riverine" at DFN Gallery, New York City 2005 , and "City Edge" at the Hoboken Historical Museum 2001. as well as dozens of group shows in New York and around the U.S. Daly has also won four NJ State Council on the Arts Fellowship Grants for painting and drawing and his work is represented in various collections including Malcolm Forbes, Prudential Insurance Company, the Newark Public Library Print Collection, Rutgers University, the U.S. Deptartment of State and writer Nick Tosches.
